Having grown up with Cream, and having followed Eric Clapton's career since then, I just don't see him having the fire to pull this off.
It's not that he doesn't have the skills anymore, but I don't see that 'something' in him that rockers have.
I was listening to Cream's version of Crossroads today, and for the life of me, I can't see him being able to ever pull that transcedent stlye of playing off again.

on a side note- Ginger Baker stops by a local club from time to time-he's always amazing

Damn that's cool !! I just hope that Baker and Bruce have made it clear that they intend to totally kick his ass if he isn't up to it.

I predict the Cream reunion will go sour... or at least curdle...

I dunno....it should be interesting to say the least. I wonder how long they'll get along?
Now what I can't wrap my head around is Paul Rogers touring with Queen. He's not even close to the same vocal range as Freddy Mercury was.
